Understanding the Register Format

A duplicate-backup location register is a bound document organised for readers who may never have handled cryptocurrency directly but must locate cold-storage materials during an emergency. Desktop Haven Way uses a consistent structure across engagements so solicitors and family coordinators can orient quickly.

Cover Sheet

States register owner, date of creation, revision number, and the physical location of the sealed address appendix. Includes a plain-language instruction: “This register describes where offline wallet duplicates are held. It does not contain recovery phrases or private keys.”

Section 1: Site Index

Tabular listing of site codes, material type, custodian name, and last verification date. No full addresses appear here.

Section 2: Access Conditions

Per-site notes on keys required, appointment procedures, dual-authorisation rules, and seasonal access limits (e.g. vacation home availability).

Section 3: Authorised Viewers

Names, contact details, and scope of access for individuals permitted to read some or all of the register.

Audit Trail Volume

Maintained as a separate append-bound book or sequenced addendum. Each entry receives a number, date, verifier signature, site code, and action description. Retroactive entries are flagged when reconstructed from prior records.
